Come for the first FREE public screening of the 'Ubin, Sayang' at Sentosa on 17 Mar (Sat) 3-4pm (with FREE admission to Sentosa*). This gorgeous film by Rachel Quek and her team features R.U.M. and the people of Ubin.
'Ubin, Sayang' traces the journey of Xiao Ting as she learns from the stories of mangrove restoration and kampong living. In the context of modern Singaporean nostalgia for the kampong, the film brings together different perspectives on what the kampong spirit truly entails, and discusses its implications for us today.
The R.U.M. team started off the new year with a blast! With the Lepak in SG workshop in January, to the scientific workshop at the start of February with mangrove expert Mr Ben Brown, and even Balik Kampung with Minister Desmond Lee last Saturday!
Thanks to NParks, Lepak in SG, the R.U.M. team, Mr Ben Brown and everyone else who supported the workshops and Balik Kampung for the great start to the year!
Today, a milestone as the first R.U.M. Scientific Workshop was held. Thanks to NParks for hosting the Workshop and to the more than 30 people who participated! As well as the R.U.M. team who turned up to support.
We spent Day 1 learning from mangrove experts, and visiting R.U.M. sites. We are excited for Day 2 when we will do restoration design!
